England – London
The Italian luxury house has launched a culinary experience in the heart of London’s most famous shopping temple.
From the décor to the menu to the tableware, the Prada Caffè environment, designed by studio VF 17, revisits the brand’s visual characteristics. The iconic green of the space and the velvet-covered furniture, while the floors reproduce the black and white checkerboard pattern of the historic store in Milan’s Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II
Similarly, the floral bas-reliefs on the walls are a reminder of several flagship stores around the world. As for the tableware, it ranges from pale blue Japanese porcelain with a contrasting double black line, inspired by ancient Celadon pottery, to crystal glassware. While the fine pastries, displayed on the central counter, play an attractive role, the food and beverages are on point. Sandwiches, buffalo mozzarella risotto, salmon and crab plates share the flavors with Spritz and Negroni, the quintessential Italian aperitif cocktail. Not to mention the wine list, with bottles ranging from Sicily to Piedmont.
The Prada Caffè is a real treat for the taste buds and makes you want to take your Eurostar ticket to discover this new venue, which is about to add an outdoor ice cream stand.
