IRELAND – DUBLIN
The Irish photographer questions our conception of reality and our relationship to objects and scale. This alumnus of the University of the Arts in London offers a “playful and deliberately ambiguous” approach to the female experience.

Colours, solids, contrasts, lines and shapes are all expressions of this world to create her own in aesthetic, surreal images that question our relationship with the everyday. Sarah Doyle’s art is also mastered in its purity

“I like to explore the infinite interactions possible with a minimum of elements,” she explains,
“I examine objects both to understand them and to decontextualise them, like fragments of an idea still in the process of germinating”.

It’s a delightful ongoing game in which the protagonists have fun with everyday accessories, which themselves become characters in their own right. This was also revealed in his first solo show “Make the World Go Away” at Dublin’s Atelier Now Gallery in 2021. “Playing with objects is a form of escapism, a way of travelling to – and even inventing – new places,” adds the photographer.

The result is an inventive, graphic portfolio in energising colours, featuring works by Issey Miyake, Memphis and David Hockney.
