United States – California

Born in the English countryside in 1992, Nadia Lee Cohen quickly found her own vision and personal universe through the lens of her camera. For several years now, this young British artist has been traveling the world to bring society a fresh look at a fantasized America.

Even as a child, her parents built her a studio in their garage so that she could develop her artistic projects. Nadia Lee Cohen went on to study at the London College of Fashion, graduating with honors in fashion photography.

With her diploma in hand, this lover of Californian landscapes set off to discover this culture, revealing the sometimes disturbing reality of a shattered American dream with a mocking, offbeat eye. Between visions of dreamlike landscapes and saturated colors, the photographer offers viewers a journey into a surreal universe juggling the visceral pleasures and terrors of the urban environment.

After six years of work, Nadia Lee Cohen publishes her first book “Women” with IDEA in 2020. Then a second in 2021 entitled “Hello, My name is”, a series of 33 self-portraits inspired by the names on the badges. And in 2022, she inaugurates her first solo exhibition.

But her career as a multidisciplinary artist also includes encounters with artists. When she puts on her director’s hat, she collaborates with Katy Perry and ASAP ROCKY. When she’s a photographer, she collaborates on campaigns for Balenciaga, Gucci, Valentino, not to mention Kim Kardashian and Pamela Anderson, when she’s not modeling for the photographers herself.

Nadia Lee Cohen, British artist, filmmaker and photographer, develops projects inspired by popular culture such as cinema, advertising and consumerism, which she enjoys injecting into mass media, magazine covers, videos and Instagram posts to make people dream, but above all to challenge and question our vision of the world.
