Based in the French capital, the designer Francesco Balzano seeks, through his work, to pay a permanent tribute to the beauty of timelessness, to the simplicity that he considers to be the ultimate sophistication. Born in Paris where he grew up, his visual culture was shaped through Venice, Florence, Rome, and Capri, where he spent his vacations as a child. A former interior design and architecture student, he joined Joseph Dirand before launching his own studio in 2018.
Combining noble materials with lines of great purity, the designer gives birth to functional pieces that have a place in everyday life, like this collection of tableware “INTERO II,” finished in a soft and vibrant pink. The designer is represented by several art and design galleries around the world, including Kolkhoze in Paris. The gallery presents four coffee tables with radical elegance: “Quadrato” in aluminum and lacquer, “Ippico” in ziricote wood and Navona travertine, “Idia” in green marble, and “Eugene” in bleached burr walnut inlay. For the Italian publishing house Giobagnara he designed “Ossicle,” which includes seats, benches, and monolithic tables made with a carefully selected range of colors and finishes in leather and marble.
