Anchored in its territory, the Contact Boards photography festivalin Deauville is articulated through several axes, testifying to its international ambition. Young talents, partnerships, and above all, photographers are in residence from France and abroad. The rich exhibition offers a look at contemporary photography, as well as the Normandy landscape – a diversity that will undoubtedly suit a wide audience – exhibited as much at The Franciscans as in the sunshine outside. Of the invited artists, Anne-Lise Broyer, Joan Fontcuberta, and Pilar Rosado stand out, as well as Alisa Martynova, Lee Schulman’s The Anonymous Project, and the installations of SMITH and Baudouin Mouanda between the pools and the deserted beach cabins, resonating before the melancholy at the heart of both artists’ projects.
