If the name of the Rotterdam-based designer doesn’t ring a bell, it’s high time you woke up. She has just entered the pantheon of design, the Vitra Design Museum, with her hit “Candy Cube.” An enigmatic object, to which one could easily attribute magical virtues, this piece in cast resin, bordering on translucent, has a fairy-tale glow around its edges. A phantasmagoria that has charmed the house of Celine, and even the musician Lorde, who integrated it into her scenography during her Melodrama Tour in 2017. The piece also offered the designer, who grew up in New Zealand, a visibility that later led her to work for OMA, Fendi, Aesop, Burberry, and also IKEA.
