Milan Fashion Week 2020 : between boldness and engagement
70 : that’s how many shows are planned by Fédération de la haute couture et de la mode. Both emerging talents and historical houses will assemble to showcase their new collections for this Women Paris Fashion Week. New creators will join acclaimed brand such as Dior, Issey Miyake, Louis Vuitton… Four fresh faces are now under the spotlight and joined the official program, and two of them are French : Coperni and Gauchere.
The event is spread over a week, and already promises to bring a wide array of creative innovations. A few were brought to our attention during the Milan fashion shows that took place from February 18th to February 24th. Neutral colors held the seat of honor : beiges, brows and shades of gray were offered in a variety of incredible looks. Puffy sleeves and long fringes also seemed to be quite on trend, and stood out from the other bold stylistic choices of the season.
Socially-committed events also left their mark on the Italian Fashion Week. For instance, Vogue Italia announced a partnership with the brand Yoox, in order to support the action of sustainable designers. Diesel also planned an event centered around “upcycling”. This “improved recycling” entails the transformation of recycled products into higher quality products.
With a great variety of statement pieces and imposing cuts to balance out the muted colors, the Milan Fashion Week certainly established itself…
