PROJECT 213A, MATERIALS FOR EMOTION

Project 213 A is the story of four friends who fell in love with Portuguese craftsmanship. They decided to set up their cabinetmaking and ceramics workshop in Portugal, working hand-in-hand with local craftsmen. Sustainability is at the heart of their concerns. As a result, Jurgita, Theresa, Maria and Clément set about imagining a new design process in which emotion dominates their various creations. So they can keep them forever.

The “Foot” stool is proof of this. Half human, half seat, the wooden creation is no longer seen as a functional piece, but as a companion to take with you wherever you go. For the design of the “Mirror” chaise longue, the studio’s four designers were inspired by the twentieth-century Brutalist movement. Like a chameleon, the geometric work of art conceals itself in the surrounding space with its multiple mirrors.

As part of the Maison&Objet In The City 2024 event, the quartet exhibited their unusual furniture in Paris, marking their debut in the capital. This was an opportunity to discover their flagship pieces, as well as their latest creations, notably the “Porto” modular sofa in metallic faux leather. An avant-garde piece to be discovered without delay.
