HOTEL HERCULES, YOUR NEW MEXICAN GETAWAY

A former industrial complex with a thousand and one lives in the heart of Mexico, the Hotel Hércules is at the centre of a true ecosystem, ideal for lovers of fine dining and cultural discoveries.

Departure for Querétaro, northwest of Mexico City. This city, whose downtown area has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site, was first home to a mill in the 16th century, then to a textile factory in the 19th century, known as Hércules.

One hundred and sixty-five years later, while the textile mill continued to operate on a much smaller scale, a brewery was founded, with the aim of reclaiming the grandeur of this site steeped in history. The mill is at the heart of the economic and social life of the Hércules District, where a community thrives with a strong cultural heritage, festivities and a deep sense of belonging.

With the brewery attracting an ever-growing following, the venue has expanded to include a hotel and restaurant in the former mansion and adjoining buildings of the old textile mill.

A place with an old-fashioned architectural charm, where the ghosts of the past poetically conjure up these new living spaces.

This 19th-century building houses 40 unique rooms with a midcentury feel, decorated by El Urdido, a local interior design studio. The originality of the place lies in its willingness to leave certain very old parts in their raw state, while infusing them with pretty vintage design pieces. In addition to the garden, patios and swimming pool, several architecture, photography and art studios have set up shop here, along with young local craftsmen. Much more than a place to live, this hotel residence is a veritable incubator for young talent, offering their skills at the very heart of the project.

The GOMA architecture studio, for example, was born in the very heart of the factory, reclaiming former industrial spaces and transforming them into a unique place for recreation and relaxation.

Guests can also discover the richness of local food cooked in two restaurants: Comedor and Buenavista. They’ll discover regional dishes prepared with reinvented classics, to match the multitude of beers on offer.

A timeless, poetic and welcoming place that immediately immerses you in the richness of Mexican culture.
