Much more than functional furniture, Erwan Boulloud creates works of art. At Galerie Negropontes, the designer and sculptor reveals his love of noble materials. Here’s how.
After graduating from the Ecole Boulle in 1995, Boulloud trained with some of the world’s leading designers, before embarking on the creation of collections for prestigious museums such as the Louvre. In the course of his practice, the designer acquired a know-how unlike any other. He set up his own studio in 2003.
Wood, metal, glass…Erwan Boulloud enjoys using a wide range of materials to reveal all their magic. Each of his creations embodies an art in perpetual motion. In his work, the dialogue between plant and mineral creates a seamless harmony.
As part of the “Alchimies” exhibition at Galerie Negropontes, Boulloud is presenting two sculptural pieces: the Yareta II sofa, accompanied by a brass marquetry panel, and the bronze and steel Atacama table. Unique pieces of furniture to discover until December 22.
