MATHILDA MOTTE’S JAPANESE PASTRIES OF A THOUSAND AND ONE FLAVOUR

During a stay in Japan, Mathilda Motte discovered daifuku, a mochi filled with a creamy bean filling. On her return to France, she founded the Maison du Mochi, which proved to be a great success. After the publication of her first book, “Mochis. 40 douceurs japonaises” published by Éditions de La Martinière, a year later she launched a second book dedicated to kyûreki – a traditional Japanese calendar with 72 seasons. Inside “Kyûreki. Douceurs japonaises”, Claire Curt’s photographs highlight the magic of Japanese pastry-making. Hanabira mochi, goma dango, wagashi… Each page reveals a recipe to make at home as the seasons change. Enjoy alone or with friends!
