THE WEBSTER TAKES UP RESIDENCE IN PALM SPRINGS

États-Unis – Palm Springs

Laure Hériard Dubreuil continues to expand the scope of her boutique concept with the opening of her fourth space in California, and ninth worldwide, in Palm Springs.

Since 2009, Parisian Laure Heriard Dubreuil has brilliantly reappropriated this famous Webster Hotel, an Art Deco building built in 1939, to create a multi-brand luxury retailer whose three-storey interiors resembles a residential space. “The idea was a place where you can feel very comfortable, where you can spend time,” she explains, “You arrive, you take off your shoes, you’re in someone’s home, or in your gigantic dressing room, and you can try everything on.” The other strength, considered “revolutionary at the time”, was to organise products like a personal dressing room, mixing brands intuitively, according to the mood. In 2023, Laure Hériard Dubreuil will open a new boutique in Palm Springs, three years after the Los Angeles and Montecito boutiques in California at Rosewood Miramar Beach. This beautiful space joins flagship sites in Bal Harbour, Houston, Costa Mesa and New York. Its opening coincided with the Coachella Festival and Desert X, and is increasingly steeped in Miami culture, an essential component of the brand’s identity.

Spatial and Vibrant Intimacy

The storefront brings back the ’70s with structural details typical of Palm Springs, while the interiors are inspired by the design of Saõ Paulo and Brasilia, with elements of geometric and timeless architecture. The 390 m² space was designed by Parisian interior architect Stéphane Parmentier, who is signing his third design for The Webster after Montecito and Toronto. At the entrance, two lounge areas pay homage to Oscar Niemeyer. On the ceiling, pink clouds evoke Copacabana sunsets, while celebrating the retailer’s signature pink. Balenciaga, Alexander Vauthier, Amiri, The Attico, Celine, Fendi, Gucci, Jacquemus, Louisa Ballou, Marine Serre, Nahmias, Pucci, Rick Owens, Saint Laurent, The Row, Who Decides War and many others dress the shelves and rails in white sand-inspired fabric, a reminder of Brasilia’s buildings and beach.

Added to this are LHD, the brand of Laure Hériard Dubreuil, and high jewellery, home and beauty products. And always, a personal collection of art and sculpture punctuates the premises, chosen by the founder and including pieces by her husband, Aaron Young. Through this boutique, she reaffirms the distinctive energy of each of her spaces with her uncompromising vision.
