The concept of “ casual food” cuisine appeared in the USA in the 2000s, then has spread to France. Now the concept is experiencing a real boom. It can be summed up in three words: fast, healthy and casual food. Fast-casual food is replacing fast food, with healthy meals on the go that are environmentally friendly, in a comfortable setting. Restaurants with a warm atmosphere offer dishes at low prices with fresh produces served quickly. It appeals to customers looking for new experiences.

MAO DUMPLING BAR

Close to Chinatown in the 3rd arrondissement, you can discover the Mao Dumpling Bar’s specialty: Chinese ravioli.
In this trendy Haut-Marais restaurant, an explosion of culinary flavors awaits lovers of tasty cuisine. You can enjoy homemade dumplings made with pork, chives, chili oil and peanuts, accompanied by Cantonese rice, before finishing off with delicious iced mochis.

With red brick walls, exposed pipes and waxed concrete, this Neapolitan trattoria, with an industrial décor inspired by New York architecture, is located 100 meters from the Place des Vosges. Here they serve real Neapolitan pizza made with quality ingredients. You can let yourself be tempted by all kinds of pizzas, from the small margherita pizza at the modest price of 4 euros, to the pizza with fresh truffles from Molise or the burratissima, which bears its name well with its generous portion of burrata. The menu also offers vegetarian lasagna, orecchiette with pesto, or the famous tomato salad and burrata.

A tip: don’t forget to try their secret shot after dinner, a Fernet-Branca mixed with sambuca.

The Californian Kristin Frederick had the idea of opening her restaurant in the 11th arrondissement of Paris around her urban and organic vegetable garden. Green House offers a fresh and light cuisine, a tasty mix of French, Californian and Asian gastronomy. The ingredients come from selected producers who take care of the cycle of the seasons. For lunch or dinner, you can enjoy vegetable gyozas with Sichuan and black vinegar sauce, beef and guacamole tacos, vegetable tempura with ponzu sauce or bomba rice with smoked white tuna and pickles.

BACK IN BLACK

Back in Black is the trendy café in Bastille that will delight lovers of coffee and homemade dishes. At the helm of the establishment, decorated in black and white: Nicolas Piégay and the team of KB Coffee Roasters from the rue des Martyrs.

In this 200m 2 place, the atmosphere is inspired by industrial lofts, and the menu is a mix of flavors from Brooklyn, Los Angeles and Sydney. You’ll fall for the grilled Ambert cheese, the grilled Toasti cheese or the hot dog with a homemade sausage, onion jam and homemade mustard. The breakfast roll, a Japanese sandwich loaf topped with cheddar cheese, bacon and a fried egg, also deserves to be tasted.

Chilam Restaurant Paris

Nestled on the side of the Bastille, this bar seduces with its tacos, burritos and other quesadillas. Juan, originally from southern Mexico, and Lucia, from southern Italy, are the winning duo of this new restaurant that showcases the flavors of South America.
On the menu? A change of scenic flavors to be savored on shared plates. Creamy guacamole, cheese quesadillas, or totopos con queso that let us discover the combination of red beans, homemade tortilla, melted cheese and Pico de Gallo, not to mention their excellent enchiladas. Also, don’t miss the Chilam tacos and Mexican croquettes or the duck confit, pork and Al pastor marinated prawns.
This new address, located rue de Brissac, not far from Place de la Bastille, pays tribute to the unforgettable Frida Kahlo and offers a unique trip to the Mexican artist’s blue house.
