Danish designer and manufacturer, Poul Cadovius is part of a line of creators famous for their genius and inventiveness. Poul Cadovius: life and history
Born in Copenhagen in 1911, Poul Cadovius was first trained in saddlery and tapestry. However, he is very interested in industrial design and furniture. He founded Royal Systems in 1945, his own furniture manufacturing company. A few years later, he created a new shelf system: modular shelves, which optimize the space and earn him many distinctions. His genius significantly marks the modern Danish design. He later collaborated, thanks to his company, renamed Cado, with many of his contemporaries: Finn Juhl, Arne Vodder, etc. After having made many furniture and marked his Scandinavian design, Poul Cadovius died in 2011, at the age of 99.

While his modular shelves remain his greatest innovation, Poul Cadovius has, during his brilliant career, created no less than 400 pieces! Among them, we find in particular this dining table, visible opposite. The white laminate table top is very representative of the time, as is the trumpet foot. A minimalist aesthetic that is worth to Cadovius to be highly regarded by vintage furniture lovers. With his creations in aluminum, he also uses rosewood for the manufacture of his tables, having at heart to work with noble materials and quality.
