Gohar World, created in 2020 by sisters and artists Laila and Nadia Gohar, is much more than just a collection of tableware. It’s a family universe that fuses time, tradition and craftsmanship with a touch of humour. Their vision is clear: to bring people back to the table in the modern world.

Gohar World’s first collection, designed in New York, is a celebration of the timeless art of setting the table. For Laila and Nadia, dressing the table should be as thoughtful as choosing an outfit. The collection includes silk satin bags with bows for chopsticks, beaded hats for wine glasses, aprons adorned with lace hands, bonnets for vegetables, egg-shaped chandeliers, and even candles in the shape of sausages and cauliflowers found among other surreal creations.

Gohar World’s uniqueness lies in its commitment to craftsmanship and tradition. Objects are created all over the world by family-run workshops, preserving artisanal techniques dear to both artists. Most of the linens come from the Gohar family’s Egyptian workshop, which uses the finest Egyptian cottons and linens.
A more personal touch is added to the Gohar World universe, with the designers’ grandmother, Nabila, hand sewing every satin bow in the collection. Other items are made by artisans in Austria, Spain, Italy and Vietnam.

The latest edition, Gohar World Table IV, offers a fantastic celebration of seafood, inviting friends, family and fish to gather around the table. Materials such as pearls, shells, silver and linen take centre stage, creating timeless pieces for the table and future heirlooms for the family.
Each Gohar World collection offers a unique experience where every meal becomes a celebration of the strange and wonderful.
