This American photographer and filmmaker sublimate women in his stagings and portraits, where fashion and fine art mingle between sensuality, provocation and humour.
“Classic with a modern twist” is how the fashion industry views his powerful photographic work. The Pennsylvania-born, New York-based artist studied marine biology and fine art before embracing his intrinsic passion: photography. International acclaim was not long in coming. His innovative vision and singular shoots have caught the eye of magazines through his expressive editorials with vintage and contemporary aesthetics, which magnify the woman with a capital W. Over time, Greg Kadel has carved out an image as an avant-garde icon of fashion and beauty photography through his original stagings, attention to detail and lighting choices. His client portfolio is as dizzying as his publications, and spans the globe. His list of stars includes Rihanna, Lenny Kravitz, Taylor Swift, Britney Spears, Gwyneth Paltrow and Nicole Kidman.

Storyteller
This rich and prolific output is produced by Greg Kadel Studios, the international office he founded, headquartered in New York, with branches in Paris and Los Angeles. This virtuoso thus divides his life and work between his three poles, but also beyond. His creative aesthetic is defined by poses, gestures and representations of the female persona. Like the great photographers, Greg Kadel makes the most of his models to create visual narratives between provocation and humour, sensuality and poetry. His scenographies not only capture the subjects, but play with the horizon of the setting and the situations. From his palette of colours to his shades of black and white, he exalts codes, handling decadence, low angle, depth of field, reflections, shadows and light. And his portraits are no exception, with their punk-rock touch, pure poetry and light elegance. Although Greg Kadel prefers to shoot on location rather than in the studio, he constantly renews his points of view and his photographic approach, which intermittently tends towards pictorial art.
