His shootings become veritable food for thought. This multidisciplinary Swiss photographer, born in Italy and based in Paris, creates fascinating stagings, transporting the viewer into extraordinary, parallel worlds. A graduate in visual communications from Milan, he explores the language of architecture, object and interior design, playing with light and shadow and variations of black and white, punctuated by colour. A regular contributor to Wallpaper magazine, Tommaso Sartori creates singular atmospheres. For Flexform, he enhances the scenic power of Antonio Citterio’s Supermax sofa, which revisits the iconic Max model from the 1980s. Here, this sculptural, asymmetrical piece of design is both in harmony with and in contrast to the architecture of Milan’s Teatro Continuo.
For Cassina, he plunges us into a telluric, minimalist, dreamlike and textured landscape for the new range imagined by Patricia Urquiola. For Tecno, he plays with geometry, asymmetry and visual abstraction to create freely expressive models. For Louis Vuitton’s Croisière 2023 fashion show, he transforms the atmosphere of the Salk Institute in California with a geometric play on space. The architecture and sunshine of the West Coast thus resonated with Nicolas Ghesquière’s collection, which created “prisms through the silhouettes, sublimated by metallic tones”. Tommaso Sartori’s portfolio offers singular representations of design and scenography, using other means of expression to push back the boundaries of photographic techniques.
