For this August issue, the Acumen editorial team wanted to highlight all those who have committed themselves to reviving our cultural heritage. We thank all our contributors who, through their words, allow us to immortalize experiences, discoveries, and encounters with passionate people who know how to dream big. This is the case with the Rencontres de la Photographie d'Arles, whose thirty or so exhibitions challenge our certainties… or with the photographic duo Elsa Parra and Johanna Benaïnous, who draw us into their cinematic imaginations.
Dream big… like the Vitra Campus, an incredible sanctuary of modern and contemporary architecture from Frank Gehry to Tadao Ando and Zaha Hadid, which boasts a brand-new garden designed by renowned landscape architect Piet Oudolf. Dreaming big… is also a lifelong project, like that of the Madrid-based duo who created Casa Josephine, an interior design studio with a captivating universe inspired by a multicultural Mediterranean, or the initiative of Stéphanie Pigaglio, a ceramics enthusiast who decided in 2018 to leave everything behind to found Clay Atelier, a space entirely dedicated to this booming craft. Passion also drives the young creative and epicurean duo behind "The Social Food," culinary photographers in high demand by many restaurateurs, who are constantly working on bold projects. Dream big… by offering an exhibition space to the young artist Anne Imhof who had moved us during the Venice Biennale in 2017 and to whom the Palais de Tokyo has just given carte blanche.
