IN THE MONOCHROME AND MINIMALIST WORLD OF NINA PAPIOREK

With rare skill, the German photographer combines architecture, urban landscape, geometric abstraction, the finality of the line and street photography.

A minimalist global vision of another world where black and white, its radical tones and shades of grey transport the viewer into an aesthetic that is at once contemporary, futuristic and historical. "For me, black and white is a reduction to the essentials. It focuses on the subject of the photograph."“,” she explains. Nina Papiorek began her photography career in 2004 and has been honing her craft ever since. She has contributed to several book projects and co-founded Dorfcollective, a collective that explores the hidden corners of streets in Düsseldorf and other cities. While light plays a crucial role in her creative process, a small human figure (or several) always appears in her compositions, highlighting the different scales of these spatial arrangements. It evokes a sense of solitude and loss within the urban environment. The meticulous eye of this multi-award-winning photographer is an expression of her love for graphic elements, combinations, dimensions, shapes, lines, and structures, which she captures on film around the world. Each of her images, whether misty or snowy, seems to have a story to tell.
