Barro Negro, the first collection designed by Made in Situ, the Portuguese editorial led by Noé Duchaufour-Lawrance, celebrated an art process that arose in the Neolithic era.

Soenga, a traditional cooking technique where ceramics are buried in the earth; a skill that immediately adds to the designer and French architect Noé Duchaufour-Lawrance. Practiced in many parts of the world, even though it's all in Portugal, this technique is only used by small groups of workers, a small family, which meets to work on our products. Hoy en día, esta costumbre ha desaparecido, pero se sigue celebrando anualmente. Cada primavera is celebrated there Soenga in the town of Molelos. So, the ceramics and the chips are placed in their pieces, which are cooked beforehand and are carefully applied to a large red oven, forged with a little bit of pino and corn hojas. This ceramic mount is whole with a fiery pin and it is covered with a turba, creating a cup with a few aberturas when it feeds the fire. These aberturas are finally released completely, to create an airtight camera with arcilla, low in oxygen, absorbs carbon. Una vez abierto el horno, el Barro Negro queda al descubierto.

The investigation into black ceramics in Portugal was led by Noé and his team to investigate Xana Monteiro and Carlos Lima de Barraca dos Oleiros, both ceramic masters who cultivate a deep respect and love for their office.

The result of this interview, is a collection of four sets of jarrones presented as metaforas, representations of the vinculos felt during the first experience of Noah in a community Soenga. This piece is unique in its expression and form, and captures the silhouette of an individual person united in its hands and reunited in circles. The jars complement each other with four lamps that illuminate the landscape of the Serra do Caramulo and its granite blocks, which recorded Noah's childhood in Brittany. Therefore, the designer sculpted pieces that transmit the feeling of these rocks, in their combination and presence. Finally, perfume diffusers in the form of esferas engarzadas en discos de granito de las mountains nacen de sensaciones materiales y atmospherics. “Son una oda al process y al lugar de la cocina, la síntesis sensorial de Barro Negro”.
