Until November 17, the Mark Hachem Gallery and the Joseph Gallery are offering a photographic journey into the world of a multifaceted artist, best known for his work in film: Norman Reedus.

We knew he was an actor, a star of the series The Walking Dead and its spin-off The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon, soon to be released in France, but Norman Reedus is a multi-talented artist: painter, sculptor, and photographer. This photographic activity, which he has pursued for many years, is highlighted in an exhibition, "In Transit," presented by the Mark Hachem Gallery in Paris.

Norman Reedus knows the margins of the world well, having lived in the working-class, artistic Venice neighborhood of Los Angeles and been discovered singing in a somewhat seedy downtown bar, a stone's throw from the Hollywood studios. This marginality, on the edge of vastly different realities, is reflected in his photographic work. Like this image of a snow-covered street, where one first sees the enormous Marc Jacobs billboard, before noticing in the foreground the hundreds of photographs of the victims of September 11, 2001, hanging on a wire fence.

Norman Reedus loves strange atmospheres, nighttime or snowy shots, empty streets. Those who enjoyed watching Daryl Dixon navigate the apocalyptic world of The Walking Dead will be on familiar ground with these photographs, and Reedus enjoys weaving links between the artist and his characters.
This exhibition also offers us the perspective of a traveling photographer who lives between Paris and the United States and who, as an unconditional Harley-Davidson biker, loves the road and travel more than anything.
The exhibition is curated by Laurie Dolphin and Géraldine Beigbeder.
