As idyllic as the Maldives, as mythical as Zanzibar, Mozambique, a former Portuguese colony in southeastern Africa, is home to a few ultra-luxurious and eco-friendly resorts. Sussurro, for example, with its six canvas bungalows, offers a beachfront experience, directly facing the turquoise lagoon dotted with traditional wooden dhows.

The owners, Adam Humphreys and Sarah Birkett, wanted to offer their guests the privilege of privacy and immersion in the most authentic Africa possible. Therefore, all the objects and decorative elements were handmade by local artisans, with the exception of the antiques sourced from various locations throughout East Africa.

Powered by renewable energy, the hotel, which has completely banned plastic, actively supports organic farming, sustainable fishing, mangrove reforestation, and the fight against poaching.

As you will have understood, Sussurro is the wellness address that takes care of you and our environment.
