Casa Neptuna is part of the Fundación Ama Amoedo, created by philanthropist, art collector, and patron Amalia Amoedo. This artist residency was established to "encourage creative thinking." The building, nestled within the natural ocean environment and native forest of José Ignacio, Uruguay, was designed by Edgardo Giménez during the pandemic. Its playful, brightly colored structure reflects the style of this Argentine artist and designer, whose career began in the 1960s with the avant-garde and pop art scene of Buenos Aires.

Inside, the minimalist space is entirely white and bright to foster concentration and meet the needs of interdisciplinary artists, functioning as "a laboratory for ideas and experimentation." It includes a large shared studio, private bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms, a fully equipped kitchen, and a shared multipurpose room. The founder's goal is to create a lasting impact on the Latin American contemporary art ecosystem. The institution aims to expand dialogue and networks within the arts of Latin America, the Caribbean, and the diaspora, with a focus on the Argentine and Uruguayan scenes.
