The interior design firm WGNB, based in South Korea, redesigned the space of the SVRN fashion boutique in Chicago.

This redesign pays homage to the history of owner David "Oogie" Kim's family. The spatial design has been reinterpreted from an Eastern perspective, focusing on the relationship between the object and its environment. Visual tension is created by the constantly shifting flow of customers circulating within the store's intimate atmosphere. The 390 square meters feature stainless steel, concrete, black-stained Thermowood, and natural stone, symbolizing durability, the passage of time, and the brand's identity. The space is divided into two sections: the sales floor and the back room, both connected by a narrow corridor.

The first installation consists of monolithic forms, while the second is crafted from brushed stainless steel with contrasting plaster and microcement paint. Curved benches serve as both display stands and seating, resting on large, rough-hewn stones. These elements invite customers to explore winding, exploratory paths. For WGNB, the brand also aims to "bring together" and connect the diverse philosophies of its collections, bridging art and design. This reflects a desire to transcend mere clothing lines, seeing them not simply as fashion items or trends, but also, and perhaps more importantly, as works of art.
