Angelique Pilière is an art director and creative consultant based in London and Paris. She works with several agencies and brands in the cultural, fashion, and luxury industries (Prada, Louis Vuitton, Jimmy Choo), as well as with photographers, such as Paul Kooiker, on print publications. In 2020, she founded Oui Non Éditions, her own independent house, to bring humor and playfulness to our daily routine. After Animal Chronicles, which represented a series of portraits of gregarious animals, she returned two years later with Routine Desire, an erotic calendar that challenges the classic pin-up model. Above all, it redefines the notions of desire and sexual pleasure, the place and representation of women. The idea came to her gradually, inspired by the kitten calendars distributed generously by post offices.

Alternative fantasies

Angélique Pilière thus brings together the work of twelve artists of different nationalities and backgrounds to create this original and zany visual narrative. She invites, in turn, Torbjørn Rødland, Peter Puklus, Blommers and Schumm, Hudinilson Jr, Francesco Nazardo, Aura Rosenberg, Heji Shin, Celia Hempton, Camille Vivier, Leigh Ledare, Frances Waite, and Walter Pfeiffer. This calendar, available in 250 copies on the Oui Non Éditions website and at Claire de Rouen, presents naked men in submissive poses, women who turn situations and sexual positions upside down, a monkey licking a vibrator, orgasms, and the power of the red pump. Whether drawings, photos, or paintings, through their works, Angélique Pilière upsets the codes and restores the balance, showing multifaceted eroticism through an exploration of gender and sexuality. Above all, she has fun extracting herself from the invasive male gaze, limited only by the imagination, for a shifted narrative between glamour and humor.
