FORM IN THE SERVICE OF COMFORT

First produced in 2009 by Big-Game for the French publisher Moustache, the "Bold" chair has become over the years an icon of contemporary furniture, thanks to an intelligent collaboration between the Swiss creative studio, the Belgian company Drisag and a sock manufacturer, making these steel tubes an essential piece of design.

Composed of two interlocking tubular sections, the chair reinterprets the traditional steel tube seat made famous during the Bauhaus period. In a minimalist style, the tube serves as the legs, seat, and backrest, representing a return to essentials. The tubes are then covered with polyurethane foam, giving the chair a comfortable feel while also lending it a sense of volume.

The "Bold" chair is part of the "Plus is more" collection, which humorously subverts the minimalist motto. less is more. Starting with a striking graphic design, Big-Game takes its reflection on functionality and form further in designing this piece, while also playing with the name which, through its thick lines, refers to bold type – bold in English – in typography.

For a touch of color, the Belgian-Swiss collective, comprised of Big-Game for design and Drisag for upholstery, commissioned a sock manufacturer to create a washable and easily replaceable cover, allowing the chair's appearance to evolve according to individual tastes and preferences. Thanks to an extra-large fabric cylinder knitted specifically for this purpose, the removable cover allows for color changes by choosing from the 13 colors in the Moustache publishing house's catalog.
