STUDIOPEPE OR THE CONVENTIONS OF THE NEW LUXURY

Milan. 2006. Arianna Lelli Mami and Chiara Di Pinto launch StudioPepe in the Lombardy capital. Their objective? Research, through the use of a multidisciplinary approach: this includes interior design, product design, and creative consulting. Based on experimentation, their approach also includes the analysis of colors, materials, and a language borrowed from contemporary art.

A formula that has led to some very successful collaborations. Starting with the one with cc-tapis, an Italian carpet company designed in Nepal. For this happy union, the duo of designers gave birth to the collection, “Hello Sonia! Rhapsody,” inspired by the world of music, and the very organic “Lunar Addiction Square”, but also the very geometric “Quadro celeste.” Another not-to-be-missed textile collaboration is with Once Milano, an Italian company specializing in high-end linens, for which the two designers have explored Greco-Roman aesthetics. Then it’s time for light, with Contardi, a Made in Italy lighting brand, which has produced the “Stick” collection. These pieces, of a “precious simplicity,” says the brand, are built of triangular elements with pure and essential lines, honored last year with an Archiproducts Design Award. Another highlight of their career is the new Roman address of the House of Hermès. Dedicated to accessories, small leather goods, and beauty products, the space on Via Condotti in Rome is dressed in earthy tones, terracotta notes, and sinuous shapes. A cocoon in the image of a new luxury and a synthesis of the StudioPepe style, intimate and delicate.
