LUME, FAMILY SPIRIT IN SICILY

It all started with a real crush: that of Prune Merlin, but also of her mother, her sister, and her aunt, for Ortigia, a tiny island in the extension of Syracuse, facing Mount Etna.

Then together they fell under the spell of one of the palazzinos, its blonde stone walls, its shady courtyard, its rooftop with a sea view. Rather than making it their family vacation home, their first idea, Prune decided to transform it into an intimate hotel. She did the decoration herself with the best local craftsmen.

The result: a joyful patchwork of colors, patterns, materials, and souvenirs. A real invitation to travel! Lùme (“glow” in Italian) opened last summer with six rooms and suites, some with a terrace. And Prune entrusted the keys to her cousin Hanawa and her companion Ronan. A beautiful story of family and passion.
