ROMULO TEMIGUE SPINCHES DESIGN

The Brazilian architect-designer reinvents interiors through his furniture and lighting designs, interconnecting the physical and digital to create a new "reality".

Romulo Temigue is one of the rising stars to watch in the design world. His whimsical and playful creations have garnered a large following on social media, blending shapes, vibrant colors, textures, and materials. The 35-year-old industrial designer, a 2014 graduate in architecture and urban planning from the University of São Paulo in Brazil, quickly grasped the importance and future of digital technology, while maintaining a strong interest in the tangible world. In his work, he frequently uses wood, acrylic, textiles, steel, glass, fiberglass, and polycarbonate to create his signature transparent surfaces. While he has already designed furniture for specific clients, this young talent is keeping a close eye on brands like Kartell, Moooi, Vitra, Brokis, and Tolix for his unconventional ideas.

Innovative concepts

Romulo Temigue, who considers himself a child of the internet, drawing inspiration from everywhere (art, architecture, interior design, video games, etc.), took a leap forward in 2021 with his 3D designs. Passionate about NFTs (non-fungible tokens), which grant him creative freedom without technical constraints, he unleashed his imagination, inventing a series of original, dynamic, colorful, and surreal pieces. While the physical and digital worlds are currently undergoing a profound transformation, this designer attempts to create furniture and lighting with a "meta" perspective, interconnecting the virtual and real to forge a new "reality" in design. As he himself emphasizes, "people will always prefer to touch and feel before investing in the intangible." His chairs, armchairs, tables, storage shelves, and lamps thus offer familiar functions alongside an aesthetic that is as varied as it is unique.
