In 2009, the designer Dirk van der Kooij I decided to launch my design studio with the firm's intention to reveal that any material could be reused. Plastic, metal, leather... are used in the design of each piece of the various collections of the designer. Thanks to some innovative machines, especially designed by the Kooij studio, the textured shapes of the Sunflower lamp or the Chubby chair reveal something extra unique, organic, owned by the design brand. Dirk van der Kooij's works can be admired at the New York MoMA, San Francisco and the Vitra Design Museum.

A few years later, the designer launched Chubby, a seat of infinite lines that created an enigmatic movement. This form is explained by the lack of memory of the robot loaded in its manufacture, which gives the Chubby chair an attractive character. What composition? Discard kilos of recycled plastic - mainly from the inside of the refrigerators -, nada less. Available in different colors - guayaba, pastel, amarillo or ladrillo-, pigments, hand mixes, introduced directly during the manufacturing of the chair, which is carried out through extrusion, a technique that transforms a solid material into a more flexible one depending on the heat. Like a bad weather condition, the handcrafted structure of the furniture is always unique. The Chubby chair is a timeless classic of contemporary design that is both fascinating and intriguing.
