La Galería de Arte Moderno de Milan (GAM) dedicates an exhibition to the genius of the design of siglo XX. Cesare, known as Joe Colombo (1930-1971) you have a life that is still short of amazing, producing a prolific work on the frontier between art and industry. “Querido Joe Colombo, nos enseñaste el futuro”, commissioned by his antigua and more than one co-laborator Ignazia Favata, recorres la trayectoria de este visionario que, impulado par ses ideales utopicos, fue capaz de prever el futuro del designe, la tecnología y la sociedad. This retrospective goes back to our first experiences when it united with the Nuclear Movement in the decade of 1950, creating the birth of a subterranean nuclear city that revealed its futuristic vision. So, we invite you to rediscover the power of our vanguardist, functional and playful objects, such as the Elda sill and the Acrílica and Alógena lamps, the Universal chair, the Tube-Chair and the Multi-chair, which are marked by the modularity, the new materials and the flexibility of the form. Modern, inventive and innovative ideas that reflect the foundations of contemporary design.
