Vincitore del Gran Premio Picto per la photografia di moda in questa 24a edizione, il fotografo Christopher Barraja showed an incredible ode to my body intrecciati with his intimate series “Of Chlorine and Rosé”. In the course of its various scenes, the photo invites the viewer to travel all the way to an inebriant and iodine altrove.
After he received his diploma from maturity, Christopher Barraja left for the city of Marsiglia with the architectural studio office. After returning to this campo non lo appassiona, the next year entered the National School of Decorative Arts (EnsAD) in the V arrondissement of Paris. So I was interested in photography, and I took it personally to visit the Atlantic: “During my scam at the School of Visual Arts in New York, I saw the opportunity to cement my fashion photography, but I didn't have the opportunity to do so.

Originating from the south of France, Barraja's photography is clearly visible in the nude and only when he can contemplate, perched “the liquid, the sea, the deep, the dark” rimangono, senza dubbio, a font of inspiration invaluable to the artist. A story, some of which are the same words from the book The Sect of the Egoists by writer Eric-Emmanuel Schmitt: “Solo and I read the bell of the universe, the truth is no longer there”. With this word, the invisible is something significant for the photo, and it is possible to express it freely before you see it: “Forse i dettagli stanno cercando di dirci qualcosa, ma noi non li capiamo”.
Christopher Barraja's photography is only due to poor conditions in the surrounding environment. La sua fantasia artistica lo conduce en un ammaliante liberazione che constantly nourished la sua imagination. “Immaginate the loro storia, cosa stanno facendo qui, cosa stanno cercando e, in alcuni casi, cosa troveranno”, dice. This is a passionate passion for the intimacy of my photos and ancorata in my photography with this ardent desire to “confront conventional elements in a way that is incongruous with a particular element”. Infatti, the tono of my scatti, a pure turn, a mineral turn, gioca with comici “rapporti di scala”, as you can see the representation of a bacio tra due suoi con, in lontananza, the vista in miniatura of a barca a vela che suggestisce, secondo the photo, “a partenza, a desire, a momento troppo breve and allo stesso tempo eterno”.

The photo project “Of Chlorine and Rosé” will be presented in the 37th edition of the Hyères Festival, which will be released from October 13 to 16, 2022 at Villa Noailles, and will be published in book format. The artist left us with a new personal title entitled The Light of a Body. “This is due to the collection of images that are very important for me to be perched and intimately shared with my hope”, concludes the photo.
