Is gastronomy the new frontier of Italian fashion? The question is worth asking in light of the many restaurant et confectionery opened by the Italian luxury houses. After Prada in London and Milan, or Armani in Paris, Gucci is now taking its seat.

In March, the Florentine brand inaugurated a fourth Tavern (tavern, in Italian) in Seoul, following those in Florence (near headquarters), Beverly Hills, and Tokyo. All are overseen by three-Michelin-starred chef Massimo Bottura, known for his Osteria Francescana in Modena, which was twice named the world's best restaurant by The World's 50 Best Restaurants in 2016 and 2018. Each Gucci Osteria is carefully entrusted to a local maestro. On the menu: the best of Italian cuisine blended with the flavors of the country. Thus, in Japan, the famous parmigiana (eggplant gratin) is transformed into ramen. And in South Korea, chefs Hyungkyu Jun and Davide Cardellini reinterpret the codes of Mediterranean cuisine, intertwining them with Korean cuisine. "Come with me to Italy" launches chef Mattia Agazzi, head of the Los Angeles Osteria. Or "Come with me in Italy" He translates this by offering the finest American and Italian products. No detail is overlooked. At his restaurant, the intimate space features cherry-red velvet banquettes and herringbone parquet flooring. The fully covered outdoor terrace boasts a mosaic floor of Italian marble. The architecture of each restaurant communicates with the others. Thus, in Tokyo, the interior design is a nod to the Osteria of Florence with its references to the Italian Renaissance and its hand-painted wooden floor inspired by antique motifs. Mexican chef Karime Lopez, for her part, is deeply inspired by "light and color; the ochre tones and shades of brown of the walls; the Florentine palazzi, emblems of this city of art and culture unique in the world." Gucci restaurants know no borders and transport Italian flavors around the globe, for a precious, unique, multicultural, and welcoming result. Buon appetito!
