Perpetuating the legacy of Frank Lloyd Wright is the aim of the collaboration between Steelcase and the architect's foundation, a partnership that has lasted since 1939. Both partners seek to create collections of beautiful furniture, textiles, and wall coverings inspired by the imagination of this prolific visionary. Frank Lloyd Wright (1867-1959) not only marked the advent of an ecological and sustainable architectural movement at the dawn of the 20th century,e century, but also contributed to the design of equitable work environments. This new collaboration begins with an inspiring office furniture line, entitled "Racine," available since last June. The pieces are both reintroductions and reinterpretations of the furniture used in SC Johnson's administrative building. This multinational chemical company, headquartered in Racine, Wisconsin, was one of the first to embrace open-plan offices. The furniture line has thus been redesigned to adapt to current standards, while retaining the vision of a master who was always ahead of his time.
