A MINIMALIST BOUTIQUE HOTEL IN CHINA

Sumei Skyline Coast, located in Sanya on the tropical island of Hainan, celebrates beauty and relaxation in a play of perfect proportions. Shenzhen-based GS Design has created a minimalist pied-à-terre, clad in white and blue, in reference to the ocean and the waves. The building’s facade plays on the undulation with its rounded windows and balconies. The interiors continue this movement, offering a fluid circulation thanks to the pure arches and geometric elements. Azure sky, sea, beach, palm trees, sunrise, and sunset… the postcard landscape serves the spaces superbly, inviting you to lose yourself in the distant horizon: from the bar to the restaurant, from the infinity pool to the roof terrace, from the lounge to the rooms. The shifting of light and shadow continues to depict all the poetry of this spatial structure on 3,200 m². The photos give this almost unreal cachet. GS Design excels in the exploration and expression of minimalist art, transforming the hotel into simple yet sophisticated stage windows suspended in time.
