After a limited edition in 2021, it was with great emotion that we discovered this 52nde edition of the Rencontres de la photographie d'Arles.
As Christoph Wiesner – director of the event since 2020 – reminds us, quoting the Italian philosopher Emanuele Coccia, “ It is therefore to the senses, to images, that man turns for a radical testimony about his own being, his own nature."
Because, yes, the Rencontres d'Arles challenge our perspective, question our vision of the world and make us question our absolute necessity to exist.
Visitors will therefore be able to discover 40 exhibitions in Arles and 15 exhibitions outside the walls, as part of the Grand Arles Express.
A powerful and profound edition in which exploration and experimentation will be key, between image and performance.
