Passionate about urbex (abbreviation of urban et explorationFollowing the practice of visiting abandoned urban spaces, Yves Marchand and Romain Meffre dedicated fifteen years of their lives to traveling across the United States in search of movie theaters. During their wanderings, the photographer duo visited hundreds of dormant theaters, sumptuous buildings with triumphant decor, all vestiges of a bygone Hollywood. Left to decay, buried under dust, transformed into supermarkets, metamorphosed into chapels, these theaters, for the duration of a photograph, recapture the gleam of their Baroque and Art Deco influences. More than a quest, it was a human adventure that resulted in several exhibitions hosted by the Polka Gallery, of which "Epilogue" is the latest installment.
