Three artists’ residences in which to stay this summer

Sleeping a few steps away from an artist’s studio, rubbing shoulders with his or her work and even sharing a meal with them. This is what several artistic residences in France and around Europe offer today, thus providing a unique experience. Acumen shares with you three exceptional places for an artistic stay.

La Casa Balandra

Casa Balandra is the adventure in which the sisters Claudia and Isabella del Olmo have embarked. In 2019, they took over a family property in Mallorca to transform it into an artistic guesthouse. In this house with typical architecture of the island, the duo invites several talents to create in a warm and festive environment in which holidaymakers can discover a new kind of stay, where sharing is de rigueur.

Parco dei Sesi

It is in the volcanic and arid landscape of the island of Pantelleria that Parco dei Sesi is located. A family house with typical architecture that a trio of enthusiasts has imagined as a place of hospitality for artists and travelers. Margot Guelfi and Massimilio Panseca run this luxurious retreat, while Giorgia Panseca, her sister, organizes the artists’ residence with her gallery. A perfect place to get away from city life, where you can enjoy the natural spectacle with the islanders and the creative residents.

The Castle of Haute-Borde

A 19th-century family home on the banks of the Loire, the Château de la Haute-Borde will be reborn in 2020 thanks to the creative trio Céline Barrère, Cécile Simon, and Violette Platteau. Between antique furniture, design pieces, and art collections, talents of all disciplines, from writing to cooking, come to be inspired and create while curious travelers discover their works and share unexpected moments with them.
