The Pierre Corthay boutique-atelier, near Place de la Madeleine, was designed by NeM/Niney et Marca architectes. The designer's ambition was "to make shoes that are more desirable than ever". In fact, the designer needed a location that could reflect his handcrafted, bespoke creations. He wanted to combine the traditional with the contemporary. The woodwork in the boutique has remained intact since the building was constructed, and forms the basis for the furniture and colorful built-in niches that echo Pierre Corthay's creations. Duck-blue and orange sofas and yellow carpets with graphic motifs energize the classic feel of the space. The result is a warm boutique-atelier, perfect for slipping on a pair of Pierre Corthay and feeling as at home as in a cocoon.
