In the heart of the Belle Époque artistic district, opposite the Académie de la Grande-Chaumière, sits the new Hôtel des Académies et des Arts, which brings back to life the workshop-houses where artists and their friends once rubbed shoulders. Designed by architecture Lizée Hugot, the hotel also houses Modigliani's former studio... The hotel's 20 rooms, whose windows open onto the rooftops of Paris, are adorned with works of art painted on the walls and frescoes drawn in pastel on the ceilings by Franck Lebraly. Enough to inspire the most poetic among us to book a private drawing lesson.
