GALLERY NUMBER 8, A RENEWAL FOR PHOTOGRAPHY

Gestural intimacies by Bettina Pittaluga, sweet and sour bodies by Olga de la Iglesia, and glittery, neon and futuristic skins by Ruby Okoro… beyond the aesthetic dialogue, it is under the aegis of the Number 8 gallery that these three artists are gathered.

Since 2016, the Brussels-based web gallery Number 8, founded and directed by Marie Gomis-Trezise, presents a careful curation of young photographic artists, mostly from the African diaspora and countries of the South. The selection crosses aesthetic and political views on little-represented bodies and identities. Also featured in international fairs and exhibitions, it proves that the web offers a new dynamism to art without losing its essence.
