Monochrome lighting, aluminum and steel: the Balenciaga boutique on rue Saint-Honoré is a true architectural gem.
When the Balenciaga boutique on rue Saint-Honoré reopened in 2017, the brand renovated this 300-square-meter loft, meticulously redesigned by architects Pierre Jorge Gonzalez and Judith Haase. The sprawling space was entirely constructed using raw materials such as stainless steel, aluminum, concrete, silicone, and vinyl. The boutique's walls are clad in concrete, and stainless steel pipes run along the ceiling. The store's lighting casts a cool glow, highlighting the colors of the garments. The fitting rooms feature curtains made of thick layers of translucent silicone. The wall shelves and display tables are made of sheet metal. The boutique is minimalist, neutral, intense, and austere. The architectural firm focused on the essentials: the various collections of the brilliant designer Demna Gvaslia. The customer is thus immersed in a futuristic world where the concept of time easily fades away.
