THE LAST JUDGMENT
It's the case that most of us are suonano when it comes to death and risuonano as ammonimenti. Cosi, dopo Not Afraid of Love, the 2016 Paris Monnaie retrosale, Amen in Warsaw in 2012 Breath Ghosts Blind, the mostra XXL all'Hangar Bicocca di Milano (vedi Acumen n°?), ecco la sua prima personale in Cina, la star italiana dell'arte contemporanea puts in scene The Last Judgment. A computer caos, sviluppato in omaggio al gigantesco affresco del Judgement nella Cappella Sistina, che sembra un’Apocalisse or a funeral mark…
Riunite in a sort of macabra dance in a space aperto, the sculpture and the installation presented as alli memento mori, most of all the series of the opera, too spesso ridotta alla sua iconoclastia e alla sua irriverenza.
And then there's provocation, but then again there's a false mess in the narcissistic scene of the artist-star, it's a meditation on death, solitude and he peregrinates what he comes to offer.

Alla caduta dei corpi agglutinati dei dannati risucchiati negli abissi dell'Inferno da Michelangelo risponde il decadimento e l'avvizzimento dei corpi spettrali e solitari o dei cadaveri abbandonati e degli anfratti di Cattelan.
Corpi rimpiccioliti (as i clone miniaturizzati dell'artista che appiono qua e là di nascosto, seduti sull'orlo di un vuoto o che emergono da buco aperto…); body avvizziti (come i suoi due doppi ingannevolmente morenti che giacciono fianco a fianco su un letto simile a una bara…); corpi rannicchiati a terra e pietrificati nel marmo bianco; body massacrati (as the body of the child committed suicide when the food was in the shape of the kitchen in the child's house or the body traveled by the cavallo was transported in a cartello with the acronimo cristico INRI)…. Corpi sospesi come impiccati o incastonati nei muri… Corpi sepolti come figure sdraiate (come Zhang San, it appears below the squallida coperta beccata dai piccioni…). Corpi ridotti all'assenza (un nome scritto al neon, vecchi stivali dove sono cresciute piante…), alle stimmate (piedi monumentali macchiati) o ai gesti di supplica (mani in preghiera che emergono slab sabbie mobili)…
Very facet and irriverente, the drama of the body of Maurizio Cattelan is profoundly macabra and, without the appearance, very mysterious. Segno dei tempi? The Last Judgment the testimony with a worrying anxiety: but it fell scavata on the ground (by the first volta in 1997) it was very deep, and it was the accumulation of the earth, it was sporgent!… As for the acrobatic gioiose of those who did not take it seriously in the past (in the previous secolo…), Hanno assunto una dimensione tragica del tutto nuova…
