The Garage Museum of ContemporaryArt of Moscow announced a collaboration with the Japanese studio SANAAThe architects, winners of the 2010 Pritzker Prize, have been commissioned to restore a dilapidated 1920s pavilion. Built in 1923 in Moscow's Gorky Park for an exhibition, this former hunting lodge, later nicknamed the "Hexagonal Pavilion," has served several purposes (café, canteen, restaurant, nightclub) before being partially destroyed by fires. The duo will preserve the structure's original form, transforming it into a space of nearly 9,500 square meters with three exhibition galleries, a library, a bookstore, and a café.2.
