Rooted in its territory, the photography festival Planches Contact in Deauville is structured around several themes reflecting its international ambition: emerging talent, partnerships, and, above all, photographers in residence from France and beyond. The exhibition, rich and varied, offers a perspective on both contemporary photography and the Norman landscape—a diversity that will undoubtedly appeal to a wide audience—exposed both to the Franciscaines and to the open sun. Among the invited artists, we particularly enjoyed the images of Anne-Lise Broyer, Joan Fontcuberta and Pilar Rosado, Alisa Martynova, and Lee Shulman's The Anonymous Project, as well as the installations by SMITH and Baudouin Mouanda between the pools and the deserted beach huts, which resonate with the melancholy at the heart of the two artists' projects.
