The Second Life : Green Shopping

A new concept that allows you to sell clothes you no longer use, the application The Second Life is shaking up the codes of consumption towards more sustainable fashion.

The secondhandmarket is exploding, studies prove it. In 2 years, 27% of wardrobes will be made of secondhand items. Platforms such as Vinted, Vestiaire Collective and Vide Dressing have understood this and are making their mark on the secondhand market, which alone has 13 million users.

What role can retailers play in this new, fast-moving sector?

This is the question that Arthur de Soultrait, a businessman, asked himself when he started his career, at the age of 23, by creating his own brand, Vicomte A, which he sold a few years later…

“I started from scratch. The Viscount A experience saved me time.”. »

Drawing on his experience in digital retail, he is launching The Second Life in 2021, with the aim of creating a turnkey solution for stores to offer a simple, intuitive, and effective secondhand service. In a few clicks, The Second Life generates the price of an item of clothing that a customer wishes to sell from a pre-set argus and sends, in exchange, an instant voucher. The clothes are then sent to The Second Life partners, specialists in secondhand clothing, who take care of reselling them. Three months after its launch, a hundred merchants across France have already adopted The Second Life service.

The Westfield Forum des Halles

shopping center is hosting The Second Life until 15 January 2022, an event that will enable visitors to activate responsible shopping.

The principle is simple: when visiting Westfield Forum des Halles, visitors can bring the clothes they no longer wear to The Second Life stand and receive instant payment in the form of a voucher, valid throughout the shopping center.

An eco-responsible approach that reduces waste, while participating in the circular economy.
It’s time to sort out your closets!
