The MoMA at the Jeu de Paume, portrait of an era

The photographic portrait of an era is what you can expect when you visit the exhibition currently on show at the Jeu de Paume. he Thomas Walther Collection crosses the Atlantic and materializes the dialogue between the continents at the beginning of the 20th century, when the medium began to establish its status as a work of art. The exhibition focuses particularly on the interwar period and its aesthetic and experimental advances. Lissitzky’s photomontages meet Cahun’s surrealism, and Rodchenko’s luminous geometrization of spaces confronts Abbott’s straight photographyurban evidence. In this turbulent period, art mingles with socio-political desires and seeks to reflect the renewal of views.
