What if a Mercedes airbag, once recycled, became a streetwear item?
This is what the German automaker made possible by inviting designer Heron Preston to its workshops. A natural fit for Preston, who rose to prominence in 2016 with his 100% upcycled fashion show and shares Mercedes-Benz's values regarding sustainable development. Their collaboration resulted in "Airbag," a collection of three outfits for men and women. A subtle nod to the raw material: its technology has also been recycled, allowing the garment to inflate on demand.
