For its reopening, the Yves Saint Laurent museum celebrates haute couture

From 17 June to 5 December 2021, the Yves Saint Laurent Museum invites us to go behind the scenes of haute couture. Throughout the exhibition, Yves Saint Laurent’s talent and universe are combined with the magnificent fabrics of seven emblematic Lyons fashion houses with which he worked to produce his creations. In collaboration with the Musée des Tissus de Lyon, the exhibition highlights a faithful and close collaboration of more than 40 years between the designer and the manufacturers and suppliers of fabrics and textiles in the Lyon region.

Some thirty models accompanied by various documents allow us to discover the creative process of the great couturier. Like a hymn to materials, the exhibition invites us to discover the softness of velvet, the reflections of muslin or silky taffeta, all materials used by Yves Saint Laurent to make his creations. A tribute to creative genius and know-how.
