With « Gagosian Premieres », the prestigious gallery has established a series of dialogues between art, writing and music, and offers access to the backstage of its exhibitions. The subject of the fifth episode, « Anselm Kiefer : Field of the Cloth of Gold », presented four new monumental canvases by the artist in the Le Bourget space, and served as the backdrop for a ballet performed by prima ballerina Hugo Marchand and principal dancer Hannah O’Neill.
The works, representations of golden cornfields and anguished skies, were sublimated by the steps of the two dancers in osmosis on Florent Melac’s choreography, magnifying the abandonment in movement. An interlude of living poetry, visible online and welcome at a time when we are deprived of galleries and live performances.
